I work one permanent night shift a week but provide additional day cover as and when needed. I cover all aspects of personal and domestic care to include bathing, showering and managing medication. I am responsible for preparing all of her meals - this covers shopping, cooking and freezing them for the month. I have accompanied my client on mini-breaks to provide support and companionship. I also have experience of working for a gentleman who had MS together with a man who had an acquired brain injury. I have worked as a Health Care Assistant at the Princess Royal Hospital but much prefer providing care/support on an individual basis where you can give 100% of your time to the client. I have worked for Age Concern providing domestic support in the home. I have first hand experience of dealing with dementia on a personal level. Prior to having my family in 2000, I worked for Lloyds Bank as part of the loss adjustment team following the pension mis-selling scandal. In addition I have 12 years experience calculating, running and paying company pension schemes. I was responsible for a team of 6 people but following time off to start a family I decided to enter the caring profession and I have not looked back.

Sara is a kind and empathetic carer who cared for my husband in the mid stage of his Dementia journey. Her knowledge of dementia and its inherent problems was very good and she used appropriate strategies to encourage him to recall memories. His mobility was very limited but Sara encouraged him to maintain the mobility he had and also spent time in companionship and conversation with him. I wholeheartedly recommend Sara as an excellent carer.

Sara is brilliant, she takes great care of our mother, she is highly organised, conscientious and caring. Our mother loves having her visit and regards her as not a only a great help but a great friend.

My mum absolutely loves having Sara as her carer. Mum sees Sara more as a friend than an employee and enjoys the time they have together. Sara is both professional and caring and we're glad we've found her!
