I have a huge passion for caring and making a difference in other people’s lives demonstrated by 20 years’ experience in the health and social care field ranging from live in care, supported living, mental health forensic units, care homes, rehabilitation and respite care. I also have experience working in the civil service and retail and possess a good academic background. Possessing excellent team working skills, time management, communication skills, customer service skills as well as an excellent and highly flexible approach to work to consistently ensure that my work hits the highest standard. I am seeking a healthcare/support worker position where I can apply, utilise and transfer all my skills and competencies and make me a valuable asset in healthcare. I have worked in mental health secure units, supported living accommodation, Nursing homes, Residential homes, mental health and Learning Disabilities and live in care. My experience has been mainly working with individuals affected by Dementia, COPD, Stroke, Learning and Physical Disabilities, Parkinson’s disease, Incontinence, Physical Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health, Brain Injuries, Spinal Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Catheter Care, HIV. I have experience in administering medication, reviewing care plans, risk assessments and holistic assessments, general admin duties, housekeeping including cleaning, laundry, cooking and I can help with these tasks too. I have successfully completed training in Moving and Handling, First Aid, Health and safety, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Infection Control and Food Hygiene. I also have a developed a great interest in Occupational Therapy having worked alongside Occupational therapists and done a bit of study in the area. I have a huge interest in working with vulnerable adults or young people to enable occupation these could be from simply pursuing a past occupation like gardening cleaning reading to working with individuals to improve their occupational day to day skills to maintain independence at home. I have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to work and always aim to be the perfectionist to ensure that my work hits the highest standard Those who know me well state that I am a bubble person who is patient, caring, empathetic, resilient and conscientious. I love reading, spending time with family and watching movies during my spare time. Here are some of the skills and competencies I have developed through working in health and social care  Good organisation skills , customer service skills and good time management skills  Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt and use different communication methods and different communications styles to suit individual needs and abilities  Very good team playing skills and Able to Working in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary care team and other agencies to meet the needs of the service users  Resilience and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines  Good IT skills and good knowledge and use of Microsoft applications, web based applications like GIS, Epi Info and various academic databases  I have Good listening skills, Patience, cheerful and hardworking and empathetic  Knowledge of medication administration at Carer/Support Worker Level  Experience in feeding vulnerable adults  Good personal care skills  Adhering to POVA and Safeguarding skills and working in line with Organisational procedures and expectations to keep vulnerable adults safe from harm, discrimination and abuse  Knowledge of the importance of Confidentiality procedures in the workplace  Ability to undertake domestic tasks including food preparation, cooking and cleaning  Ability to treat each resident as an individual and to always ensure that each resident’s needs are met and to work with other professionals, management and colleagues to ensure that each resident has a high quality personalised care plan that takes into account their individual needs, beliefs and requirements  Experience working with Challenging Behaviour, Lone Parents, Drug and alcohol abuse residents, Ex-offenders, residents with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Mental health, Learning Disabilities and Peg Feeds.  Knowledge of Manual Handling Legislation, RIDDOR, COSHH and Health and safety regulations Ability to undertake moving & handling of residents and loads using the correct and appropriate procedures, methods and specialist equipment I am looking for roles in Support Work, Healthcare, Personal assistant and Live in roles.I am willing to work day shifts, nights, sleep in or block bookings. Please note that I charge double for bank.holidays and a higher rate for hoisting, double clients and night calls for live in care.
