I p...More My name is Alison, I like to be called Ali. I have been a live in carer for 5 years. I like to work 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off. With my first introduction to caring for a client for the first time I just like to do 3 weeks initially as this gives the client and myself to see if we are a good fit. I pride myself in complex care, highly experienced with all aspects of moving & handling, PEG, bowel management,catheter care. Also experienced in spinal injury clients. Fully experienced in End of Life & Palliative care. I am an animal lover and therefore quite happy to care for any family pets and would love to walk their dogs. I drive, have a full clean EU licence and have my own car, however I do not wish to use my car to carry clients as I don’t have business insurance for this. I am however happy to use the clients own car to take them to appointments etc. I was a professional chef working in both UK and Spanish restaurants for 25 years, I love to cook healthy meals from scratch, along with cakes and baking. I believe healthy home cooked food is good for the soul. Also to get clients involved in preparing the food with me where possible. I have worked with many clients that have needed physio to aid their rehabilitation and recovery so I am happy to follow a physio plan from the professionals. I am very experienced and happy to liaise with all medical professionals coordinating my clients care, I am used to dealing with GP’s, District Nurses, OT, Physiotherapists and SALT teams. I ideally would like clients within a 100 mile radius of my home so Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire & Essex are preferred locations. I am happy to accompany clients to any activities/clubs they belong to and also social engagements and church. My rates for bank holidays are charged at double time, please be aware my daily rate may increase if the complexities of the individual client are more complex or if the clients needs differ from the care plan. Please also be aware I also charge travel expenses to get to my clients home. I think I am easy to get along with, I know when to provide my client with a bit of ‘space & privacy’ and I always encourage them to do as much for themselves as possible.
