I am a 33-year-old Nursing Assistant at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, with the NHS. I have been in this position for 4 years, and I have worked all across the hospital in various wards, such as complex care (including dementia, risk of falls, frailty, and end-of-life care), trauma and orthopaedics, neurology, stroke, medical, surgical, burns, ICU, and more. I have uploaded the list of NHS training I have undertaken, and I also have a recent DBS and First Aid training. Before my current role, I worked as a Key Support Worker for children and young adults with autism and learning disabilities. I have undertaken Autism training and learning disability awareness. I know basic Makaton, and have completed adult and children safeguarding. I have worked with young people with epilepsy. Prior to this, I was an English teacher is several countries such as Nepal, Thailand, Bosnia, and Poland. I worked as a teaching assistant in a Montessori School in Madrid, Spain, and an Art teacher in India. I spent one year working as an Aupair in Australia, and have spent many years travelling the world gaining general life experience and learning about other cultures. I have volunteered in 32 countries and plan to visit more countries in the future. I am happy being around pets and helping provide care for them. I have a driver's license and car and can help with trips and shopping. I like initiating creativity through painting, drawing, and creating and enjoy playing games, such as chess. I encourage outdoor time, taking walks, going to the park, and being in nature. I believe that providing companionship and a listening ear is a great contribution to good health and happiness. I pride myself on patient-centred support, always putting the patient's needs, wants, and desires first, tailoring their care to meet them, and promoting as much independence as possible.
