I am currently studying for a Masters degree in Psychology and Learning Disabilities, through distance learning. My hobbies are: reading, taking walks, baking, knitting and watching documentaries. I have a dark, dry sense of humour and often find something to smile about. I love to cook, bake, garden, sew, knit and crochet. I have an avid interest in religions and politics and always have a book or two in tow. I can walk for miles and miles and love having new experiences. I am a believer in people and their ability to be. I am up to date with my CV19 vacations. I am currently looking for clients that are mobile and do not require hoisting. Experience I have worked as a care worker/support worker for nearly 25 years and can say have no will to walk away. This is where I belong. Previously I have been a journalist, speechwriter, receptionist and cleaner. I started off as a home care worker, then worked with people with spinal injuries. I have also had experience with mental health, learning disabilities, autism, elderly care, end of life, forensic, brain injury, extensively with Parkinson’s Syndrome and children in care. I have also worked in secure units, hostels, nursing and residential homes. When I am doing live in jobs I prefer to have my 2 hour break each day. When starting with a new client I prefer to have 1 week settling in period where I can evaluate the client and then discuss my period of care.
