I would describe myself as a compassionate, friendly and professional care provider with excellent communication skills. I have 11 years’ experience caring for children and the elderly. I care for my 93 year old Grandma at home in addition to babysitting young nieces and nephews. It was this special experience that encouraged me to pursue a career as a Care worker, where I have worked professionally for over a year in various homes in the UK. My care training and certification has enabled me work with people living with dementia and other health conditions particular to the aged. I am also experienced in providing end of life care, and accompanying my clients for their hospital visits, personal grooming (cleaning, feeding, toileting, hygiene etc.) and caring for children with special needs. My first 8 months as a professional Carer was in a care home where I worked under strict supervision. Here, I acquired first-hand experience in all types of hoisting, PEG feeding, catheter care, changing stoma bags and many other skills. Prior to becoming a Carer, I had worked in the telecommunication industry as a customer support specialist for over a decade. I enjoyed my day to day interaction with customers, listening to their pain points, providing solutions to their problems and generally making their lives more pleasant. This experience provided me with transferable skills in my career as a care provider and has made the transition so much easier. I enjoy swimming and watching movies. I am an animal lover and I have got two friendly dogs. I am also passionate about travelling and sightseeing, where I get to meet new people, experience different cultures and make new friends. I enjoy cooking nutritional meals and like to get clients involved in meal preparation as well. Although I am familiar with Nigerian meals, I am very happy to learn new cuisines, especially when there is a guide or cook book. I am comfortable working with either male or female clients and I am available Monday to Saturday, including Bank holidays. Kindly reach out to me if you feel my services would be useful. Thank you.
