At 22 I joined the RAF as a nurse and had 9 incredible years during which I met my husband. After leaving the RAF I had my two children but continued to work as an agency nurse and later I worked in care homes and also in the community. In 2000 I retired from nursing as the job I trained to do was unrecognisable. However, I continued to work in the health and social care field as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, a warden in sheltered housing and in more recent years as a live-in carer. Over the years I have gained immense experience and continually keep up to date with training. My area of expertise is with the elderly and this is where I am at my happiest I am a happy soul and clients tell me I brighten their day and make them smile. The nicest thing that was ever said to me was by a gentleman for whom I was providing palliative care who told me I made his life alive. I love to talk but am also a very good listener. One of the references I have provided is from a relative of a former client and I believe there is no better recommendation than from someone who you have provided care for. On a personal note I have two children and four grandchildren and love spending time with them all but am equally happy to get home to peace and quiet! I enjoy old films and love anything to do with royalty, history or of the modern age. My musical tastes are varied and I sing a lot but my singing has been likened by a client to a cat being scalded so I try to keep the volume down! I can adapt to any situation and am calm in a crisis. I like to think that there isn't a situation I cant deal with. I am told I am very easy to live with and a nice person to have around. If there is any further information you would like about me I would be more than happy to forward it to you.
