Working as a senior carer for 10years, I am passionate about supporting, empowering and enabling people that have been challenged with various conditions, such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Dementia and Autism. I am friendly, hardworking and a good communicator. EXPERIENCE I have worked with people who had various mental health disorders such as Dementia, Bipolar - Anxiety and depression and I am familiar with some of their symptoms and some of their treatment methods at my level. For example in my previous workplace, I supported clients with Alzheimer's Dementia, helping them overcome sun downing experiences, supporting them through anxiety attacks, and develop new positive habits and coping mechanisms. When the client had intrusive thoughts, I encouraged them to positively distract their thoughts and engage in good hobbies like music, simple art tasks and taking walks. This really helped my clients feel more hopeful and less isolated as they had someone to confide in about their problems as well. I have also provided Palliative care, working alongside team members such as Doctors ,nurses, family members with respite care. On the other hand I have provided personal grooming, toileting, cooking and any administrative tasks which need support. CARE I love supporting other people and making a difference in their lives. I have always had a great interest in supporting, empowering and enabling people be independent in their own homes. I am trained as an Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse in my country of origin in Zambia in 1978 and with mental practice degree obtained at Gloucestershire University has given me great confidence in supporting clients with complex needs. HOBBIES I am a good cook, and love trying new recipes. I like travelling and meeting new people. SIGN Off Please get in touch and I will reply as soon as I can, Thank you
