I've worked in various trades, picked up many skills and dealt with many different scenarios. I spent a decade in Hospitality, from waitress to barmaid, receptionist through to managing restaurants, kitchen manager and head chef, ran a bed n breakfast, ran pubs, clubs and outdoor events. I've been a security guard, fire marshall and even a bouncer. I've worked as a hospital bedwatch officer for 2 years with patients needing 24 hour supervision who were at risk of harming themselves or others, due to psychosis, drug and alcohol detox, awaking from a coma, dementia, learning or developmental difficulties, self harming, suicide attempts, eating disorders or other mental health issues. I've also learnt about a myriad of complimentary therapies managing a holistic health clinic for 3 years. In the summer months, I often still work as Night Manager for Welfare at numerous festivals working alongside medics and security to help distressed folks needing care, support and advice, whether that's from dehydration and heat exhaustion, drugs or alcohol misuse, domestic violence, sexual assault or having a mental health crisis. We're also responsible for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. As I usually work 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, I try to coincide my festival work on the weeks I'm not doing care. I will consider doing 3 weeks on, 1 week off if needs be. In the past I have been a Private Carer for a lady for the last three years of her life with complex needs due to her Ehlers Danlos (hypermobility type), leading to frequent dislocations and subluxations of her joints, gastroparesis and epilepsy. She was fed through total parental nutrition directly through her vena cava into her heart and so I was responsible for administering medication through her PEG, domiciliary help and personal care 3 to 4 days a week to give her children and carer some respite. I've also given 6 months full time palliative care to a gentleman with COPD and stage 4 lung cancer, taking care of all his private administration, organising his medication schedules, nutrition and hydration, assisted with personal care and accompanied him to his chemotherapy treatments and hospital appointments. Recently, I've worked in Home Care for 2 years, visiting clients in their own homes helping around the house, prompting or administering medication, giving personal care, supporting with mobility, moving and handling, stoma and catheter care, assisting with washing and dressing, companionship, cooking meals, doing gardening and getting shopping in. I've been doing Live-in Care for about a year or so, doing much the same. My colleagues and clients describe me as trustworthy, patient, understanding, compassionate, friendly, resourceful and organised. My friends would describe me as honest, reliable, creative, sociable and funny. I love riding my motorcycle, enjoy various boardgames, watching films and make leathercrafts to sell online in my spare time. I love dancing and singing along to my favourite music. I enjoy camping, swimming and walking. I like meeting people and making new friends, sharing new memories and experiences together. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to meeting you and helping you wherever I am able to. Have a wonderful day! Please note: I ask for double pay on National Bank Holidays and a contribution of £30 per week towards food if working in a live-in situation. Thank you for your understanding.
