I work well on my own initiatives as well as part of an effective team. I am a caring and helpful person who can communicate very effectively with all groups of vulnerable people. My work experience at Elderthorpe residential and nursing care home enabled me to communicate effectively. I started work in 2009 as health care assistant until 2013 then I decided to work as a live-in carer. I assisted clients with dementia, learning difficulties and end of life. I have acquired excellent all round care skills including personal care, cleaning, laundry, meal preparations and shopping. I am a good listener and communicator with empathy, patience and understanding. I am a very confidential and mature person. I do not discriminate people and I'm not judgemental either. I am gentle by nature, patience, understanding and empathetic, always working according to the client's instructions and care and medication plans, adhering to good practices and excellent record keeping skills. I gained knowledge of treating people as individuals and treating them equally. I have knowledge of promoting independence and making sure they are safe always using my knowledge of health and safety guidelines. I did some training in moving and handling, first aid and food hygiene. I am trained to administer a wide range of medication.
