Therefore, it would not be surprising that I have chosen to continue in this field. Also, my desire for embracing being a Health care Support worker is for the satisfaction derived from affecting people's life. The passion and emotional support for caring for patients is something I grew up with as a child shadowing my mum, aunt and elder sister. It's evident that I have something to give out; thus, I fancy this role as a HSW in this industry. I have built that strong relationship with patients and nurses from my years of working in hospitals, nursing homes etc as a healthcare assistant. It's my goal to put patients first in everything I do, giving them a sense of belonging. I value patients, their families, and staff. My tolerance and knowledge derived working in some of the most challenging wards like acute medical units, accident & emergency units and critical care units, put together with all the other skills learnt, make me a stronger support worker. My first job I worked at was a care home caring for residents who sufferd dementia and there were those who were bed bound and also end off life I stayed there for 7 months then decided to work in domacillary. I really enjoyed it going around from home to home caring for those in their own homes. After that i signed up for an agency and worked there in nursing homes as and when im required. I have also ( in that time ) been a live in carer which I also love to do as the one on one interaction is somthing I find very inportant and not only for myself but to know that the clients I care for are very happy content and they feel safe I am a very kind caring compasionate person who can be silly and have a funny sense off humour but also serious and profesional when needed to be.
