I believe caring for someone is about facilitating and empowering an individual to live the quality of life that allows them to thrive. I believe in doing things with people, not for people. I am trustworthy and dependable, respect people's personal spaces. I treat my clients with dignity and respect as respect cannot be demanded it must be earned. I can read your care plan but I much prefer to discuss directly with the client or their loved one about their preference and needs and everyone is an individual and should be treated as such. 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"1","field_care_type_first":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"1","field_care_type_fifth":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"1","field_care_type_sixth":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"1","field_care_type_seven":"1, 4, 5, 3"}

RG7 3EH 27752 I have been a carer for around 15 years. I enjoy the role as I like to be able to make a difference to people’s lives and provide an excellent standard of care to all my clients. I have worked very well with dementia clients by observing and assessing where I can make things easier in the home for them so that they can continue to be as independent as possible but still with guidance when needed. I fully encourage independence in the home if I think a client has the capacity to do so. My preparation and cooking of meals is excellent as I can easily adapt to different dietary requirements. I am myself Gluten free and Soya free so my knowledge and understanding of this is very vast. I am able to communicate well with clients and form a sustainable bond with them. Being a great carer is understanding individual needs, assisting their daily routine but ensuring they have choices and care plans are person centred and allows input from the client as to how they would like their daily needs met. My experience enables me to recognise when clients are unwell, anxious, low in themselves or having a down day. My own son suffers with severe anxieties so I have some excellent strategies that I can transfer to provide the client with a calm environment. I will encourage social interaction if this is what the client requests - I would source local clubs, groups, day centres, meetings and arrange joining and transport for the client. I have excellent communication skills and can liaise well with medical/healthcare professionals on behalf of the client. I am always happy to learn new skills and will accommodate both male and female clients plus couples (couples rate would be slightly higher) and I love pets and have no pet allergies. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my personal statement and I very much hope to be your new carer. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}

I would support and give guidance to the carers, put out the medication as prescribed by their GP, I would also do various woundcare, and give guidance to the carers and client's family members on how to deal with a wound if necessary. I've also done post-op wound care and post-op assistance, especially for orthopaedic post-op patients. I've been a registered nurse phlebotomist as a travel nurse, taking blood for insurance companies as well as pathology laboratories where I've performed bloodtaking on adults and children. In my recent role as an RN in a hospital here in the UK, I've worked closely with consultants. Post-op wound care and taking blood from patients were a prominent part of my role. I've recently explored other opportunities, and for instance have I looked after people’s houses and pets, which included light cleaning chores. I’ve had excellent feedback from customers in the private hospital setting, praising my nursing skills, friendliness, and professionalism. Transferable attributes: - Caring and compassionate - Good interpersonal skills - Friendly and polite - Professional - Good listener - Good social skills - Excellent customer relations - Good conflict handling skills - Excellent communicator - Analytical and good judgement - Positive outlook - Problem-solving skills - Good sense of humour - Passionate about nature - Animal and pet lover. RG22 5LQ 290830 I'm a 65-year-old male carer, widowed and retired from a career in academia and business consulting, transitioning into care work in 2018. I have worked with a wide range of support needs, including Parkinson’s, stroke, COPD, MS, sepsis, dementia, spinal cord injury, heart surgery and general infirmity. I'm also the author of a nutrition guide and cookbook for carers. My service is highly personalised, with a focus on problem-solving and facilitating as high a quality of life as possible. Am I the right carer for you? To help you decide, you may like to know some specific details about what I can offer and how I work, such as: •  As a male carer, I can attend to all practical and personal needs of male service users. In the case of female service users, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to provide intimate personal care. However, I’m happy to support ladies with all other needs such as moving and handling, nutrition, companionship and household support. •     I am passionate about preparing healthy, nutritious meals. We will discuss your personal preferences and specific dietary needs and develop a meal plan from there. •     Hoisting: If you require hoisting or other mechanical lifting aids, I can offer experience with a wide range of equipment. In the case of mobile floor-based hoists, safety regulations require that a second trained person is available to assist. This may be another care professional or a suitably trained family member or friend. •     Geographical coverage: I’m happy to support clients in most of England and Wales, up to about 300 miles from my home in the southeast. •     Driving: I have a clean driving licence and full business insurance, and drive a large vehicle in which wheelchairs can easily be carried. I’m more than happy to transport and accompany clients to appointments and social engagements (with the exception of religious services). Mileage is charged at £0.45 per mile for outings and travel between my home and the service user’s address. •     Pets: Unfortunately I am allergic to cats and therefore unable to work in households with them. Other species of pets are no problem. •     Smokers: On the topic of allergies, I’m also allergic to tobacco smoke and therefore unable to work in smokers’ households. •     Night support: If you require support at night, we can discuss the extent and nature of such support, as it may attract fees or a need for additional care personnel. •     How long will I be with you on any given occasion? The duration of support spells is always negotiable, depending on your requirements and my availability at the time. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"1","field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"1","field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"1","field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"1","field_care_type_seven":"3"}

SP11 6YU 199542 Caring is a profession that has engulfed my family. My mum, aunt, and elder sister are nurses/carer. Therefore, it would not be surprising that I have chosen to continue in this field. Also, my desire for embracing being a Health care Support worker is for the satisfaction derived from affecting people's life. The passion and emotional support for caring for patients is something I grew up with as a child shadowing my mum, aunt and elder sister. It's evident that I have something to give out; thus, I fancy this role as a HSW in this industry. I have built that strong relationship with patients and nurses from my years of working in hospitals, nursing homes etc as a healthcare assistant. It's my goal to put patients first in everything I do, giving them a sense of belonging. I value patients, their families, and staff. Respecting their aspirations and commitments in life is paramount. It's vital that I understand the patient's priorities, limits and abilities; with this, I care for them adequately. I don't compromise the quality of care; this has earned me respect from patients and their families. I compassionately care for patients; I feel their pains, and I don't fail to reassure them consistently. I treat all patients the same without discrimination. Living with my grandmother has also fortified my choice in healthcare. I have been working in hospitals and care homes for years and equipped myself with the necessary required skills to care for adult and young people. I have built my confidence in working under a tight schedule and under pressure. I know healthcare support worker is a stressful job where traumatic situations are frequent, but I have determined to put my dream in front of me. I am obliged to always deliver person-centred care to the patients. Patience is one of the key traits that I hold on to each day. I learnt to communicate clearly and concisely working with adult and young people. Timekeeping is another skill that I learnt working in healthcare. I have learnt to apportion tasks in smaller units and set realistic targets. My communication, timekeeping and organisational skills have also helped me function in a team productively. My tolerance and knowledge derived working in some of the most challenging wards like acute medical units, accident & emergency units and critical care units, put together with all the other skills learnt, make me a stronger support worker. It's beautiful when looking into a patient's eyes and sees the gateway to their soul when only a caring touch or word can make a connection. I like being blessed, and I count my blessings daily for all the patients I have helped gain better health or independence in life. High standard and quality care is what I'm about at all times. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"4, 5","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"4, 5","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"4, 5","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"4, 5","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"4, 5","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"4, 5","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"4, 5"}
