CT19 5EL 278604 Personal Statement With over two decades of dedicated experience in health and social care, and a robust academic background, I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Positive Behaviour Support to further my commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My journey has been driven by a deep-seated passion for creating supportive environments that foster positive behaviours and personal growth. Professional Journey and Experience Over the past 22 years, I have worked across various roles in health and social care, where I have honed my skills in supporting individuals with diverse needs. My career began as a care assistant, where I obtained an NVQ Level 2 in Care, which laid the foundation for my understanding of the principles of compassionate and person-centred care. This early experience ignited my passion for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and it set the stage for my subsequent professional and academic pursuits. Throughout my career, I have held various positions, each adding to my expertise in the field. From working in direct care roles to taking on supervisory and leadership responsibilities, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with behavioural needs and the strategies required to support them effectively. My experience spans residential care, community support, and educational settings, providing me with a diverse perspective on the implementation of positive behaviour strategies. Academic Background and Professional Development I hold a degree in Intellectual and Developmental Studies, which provided me with a solid academic foundation in understanding the complexities of intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders. My studies have equipped me with a thorough understanding of the theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices that underpin effective support strategies. Complementing this, I earned a Diploma in Health Studies, further deepening my knowledge of health and social care principles. As I progressed in my career, I recognized the need for continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. I have participated in numerous training programs and workshops, including specialized courses in positive behaviour support and behaviour analysis. These opportunities have allowed me to expand my skill set and apply cutting-edge techniques to my practice. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss how I can best assist you in your home. My rates range depending on your needs. Once we have had a consultation we can negotiate rates. I believe that every individual requires to be given support through their conditions with dignity and respect and to also be supported to have a fulfilling life in whichever stage they may be of their life. At the heart of all care is the individual first and making sure their care needs are met. I strongly believe in person centred care. I also have supported other carers about health and safety when supporting our service users. These are some of my strengths and also knowing that kindness, compassion, honesty come naturally when i know that caring for others is my calling. CT20 2PT 5663 I am a carer with over 10 years experience. I worked for one family only for over 6 years. I was in charge of a large house and was trusted the management of the household supervising other staff. I was in charge of the care of the father of the owner. He suffered from Alzheimers but remained in family home up to the end of his life. I cared for him, managing his medication, dressing, accompanying him to outings and hospital appointments. I slept in at the house whilst the owners were working abroad. More recently I have been caring for a 100 year old through a private contact sleeping in the house. This job started as a once a week companionship and was gradually increased to ’job share’ with the client’s daughter one week on/one week off sleeping in the house and cooking a hot evening meal. This has enabled the client to remain independent in her own home. The client has now moved to live with the her family. I completed a week’s training course with Nurse+ and consequently worked in my local Community as a carer before my private employment. Recently I have cared for a lady with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. I have completed my Health Education England, skills for care and Skills for health Certificate. I am a multi linguist and foreign languages are my passion. I worked for a diplomatic overseas service. I speak fluent spanish, french and finnish. I have gained a Diploma in french language and In my spare time I offer language lessons to private individuals. I go to local sports centre regularly to work out and I enjoy swimming too. My strength is my vast experience in the care sector. I am patient, cheerful and calm under pressure. I enjoy working with elderly and my own interest in current affairs and knowledge of different countries and cultures has helped in conversations with adults that I have cared for. I am physically able and in excellent health which helps when caring for a vulnerable person. {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":"0","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"0","field_care_type_second":"0","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"0","field_care_type_third":"0","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":"0"}

CT15 4BX 281260 Its my desire to treat people in my care with respect, dignity and with the best care as per my training and experience. Being a Carer is taking heed of my clients needs and wishes and to do my best to perform them, making the environment a pleasant one for both the client and myself. I am patient and kind, compassionate and am able to work with people from all different departments in the total care of my client including their families. I am happy to work in a home with animal, cats or dogs as I have always had animals, although I am a cat lover, as I wanted my kids to grow up with them and when coming to UK, I flew my daughters cat over to the UK to be with us. I like cooking easy and nutritional foods for my clients, I would sit down with them and discuss what they would like to eat and do my best to make it. Another thing of importance is being able to take my clients out into the community to mix socially or to visit friend or attend church. On waking my client in the morning with a smile and a cheerful demeanor, is very important, making sure they are ready to proceed with the daily tasks and personal care, having meals and spending time doing what they like, crosswords or puzzles, or just chatting. I would naturally do what is required of me according to the clients care plan, making sure they are taking their medication as indicated. Mostly it will be following my clients lead and always getting their consent and the right to choose if they are mentally capable, but at the same time making sure that I have some down time to rest and do what makes me happy, such as a hobby, reading, a walk. Its necessary for me to have a 2 hour break each day. There will be a surcharge if I have to get up twice at night and if this occurs a lot, I would contact a family member and arrange for them to help me get some extra rest and recharge, because this will ensure than I can work at my full potential. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

CT18 8BL 175026 I believe being a good carer means being compassionate, respectful, empathetic, but also having the ability to create a friendly rapport. I thoroughly enjoy talking with older people and hearing their stories and how they lived their lives. I have been a carer on and off for 18 years now, although, I have been a carer of sorts since I was very young due to my own mother being disabled. I have worked in a nursing home setting, as well as in the community. I am happy to do personal care as well as social visits, shopping and light housework. I gained my NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care in 2009 while working in a nursing home. My experiences include giving personal care, prompting medication, assisting at mealtimes, using equipment such as stand aids and full hoists. I have cared for people with dementia, physical disabilities, Parkinson's and stroke, and feel very strongly that the client feels confident and safe in my care. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
