DT6 5DT 135728 I had previously attended to a close relative for a number of years (myeloma), a later client (cancer, arthritis, dementia), and lately stoma care, anxious moods and depression. Extra Qualification: CSTF : Care Skills Training Framework. (Large file). My mode of care has always been to encourage the client (friend) going for walks (if possible). I may read to the client if they request or we watch a film. Activity always helps to instil a sense of purpose in the client being cared for. Patience, I have learnt to have and adapting to each client's personality and they get used to mine.

DT6 5JE 2183 I enjoy taking care of people/homes/pets and plants and find it very rewarding. I am very calming and friendly and a holistic therapist part time. My experience started out as a live-in carer for a spinal injury care company. I also worked for a care agency, where I cared for a girl with disabilities, there was always 2 carers in this role and we took her to school, administered medication and checked blood and ketone levels. Within this agency, I covered many different care homes and agencies across Bristol. I also supported 2 ladies privately, both had a spinal injury, where I supported with personal care, using a catheter, cooking and a lot of driving. I like driving and I am a very careful driver, I can drive an automatic and a manual car. My preference is home care as I love seeing people so relaxed in their own home. I am also a complementary therapist, so naturally, I am a gentle caring person. I love working with all ages, but particularly fond of the elderly. I used to go into a few care homes in Bristol and offer mini treatments, this is at a dementia home and one of my friends who is like a grandma had dementia. I am a fantastic listener too! I am now back living in Dorset and looking forward to caring for people that need support in this area. I would prefer a minimum of 2 hours + per visit.

BA21 3EN 238644 I am an experienced carer, doing care for over 9 years. I have worked in different care settings. I started working in the community, doing home care, and afters I worked for a Rapid Response Rehab team-NHS. I have been working with adults with learning disabilities for over 5 years and I am also doing agency work. This gave me the opportunity to go to a lot of different places like care homes, hospitals, hospices. I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people with very different conditions and needs, and also different ages from 12 years old to 105 years old. I consider myself a confident carer. I am very attentive to details, don't like jobs half done. I am driven and would like to think I am always doing the best that I can to look after people and make sure they are well looked after, safe and happy. I enjoy making a difference in their lives. I consider myself compassionate, kind, calm, warm, very caring and empathetic. I am professional, hard working, I work good under pressure, I am good with time management, I like to work in a team, but I can also very well do lone working. I always put all my heart and soul in my work and I will go extra miles for the people I look after. I am curently studying Mental Health Nursing at University Centre Somerset.

TA20 2PX 60825 A strong calm sensitive person who enjoys helping adult and elderly people live the best life they are able. Reliable, kind and gentle and able to adapt to the needs of my client. Learns quickly what help a person needs and able to assist them to organise their lives to include trips to beauty spots and tea out. Good ability to liaise with other professionals to get the support they need, whether from gp, optician, dentist, or social services. I can also drive them to appointments. I find out what meals they enjoy most and make sure they have as wide a variety as possible of fruits and vegetables. I enjoy cooking and am able to cook meat based traditional meals and plant based wholegrain meals. When I cook roast chicken, I make many meals afterwards, including soup from the bones. I was brought up on a market garden and enjoy helping in the garden. I love nature and the countryside, music, Art, books, reading aloud, poetry and crossword puzzles. I understand the benefit of going out to sit in nature, a concert, or having friends round, and I am happy to facilitate social occasions and make sure they are centred around the person I am caring for. I know how to be in the background but can also be sociable if invited. I have worked as a student nurse in Brighton hospitals for 1.5 years, as a domicilliary carer in Brighton for 2 years and in a care home in Hove for 2 years and have been a live-in carer for 8 years. I have looked after a gentleman who had Alzheimers, from diagnosis, as his live-in carer until he had to go into a care home because his house was unsuitable when he could no longer walk. His family are happy to give me a reference. I have been a live-in carer helping a woman walk again with rehabilitation exercises given by a physiotherapist. Also looked after a woman after she had had a hip operation, helping with exercises and going for walks. As a qualified Shiatsu practitioner (dip Shiatsu massage) and a Reiki practitioner and teacher of many years, people find my presence very calming and reassuring. I like to laugh and see the humour in most things and am able to laugh at myself. I am calm in a crisis and have done first aid training many times. I worked as a volunteer in Brighton in St John's ambulance service for over a year. I believe that healthy people, if behaving responsibly and testing very regularly, should be able to choose whether or not to have the Covid vaccination, and I am not going to have the vaccination at present. I protect my health rigorously and test regularly. I do not work with people with extremely challenging or aggressive behaviour but understand everyone, especially if they have a debillitating illness, need to express their frustration at times. I generally only work with couples if they have very few complex care needs.

DT73TS 65544 Its now Jan 2025 and I am taking time off from work to volunteer at a Buddhist retreat centre until end of September 2025. I anticipate I will be back and available for work in Autumn of 2025. Here is general info re my skill base and style of working... Please take the time to read my references. Thank you. Please do look at my client references for validation of my work ethic. OFFERING RESPITE WORK rather than long term placement for foreseeable. I have 35 yrs plus experience in caring for people with different needs, in a variety of settings. I am looking for respite care opportunities covering carers breaks or extra care support needed as a transition from hospital back home. I also enjoy supporting people who need some support to live an independent, full and rich life. Also available for palliative care support. I have had previous experience in this area and appreciate the need for patience, calmness, kindness and flexibility. My primary aim has been to support people to remain living as comfortably and independently as possible at home, to enjoy life despite of challenges and ensuring the family members are also listened to and feel equally supported in collaboratively caring for their loved ones. I worked for a company that works with service users with Parkinson's for 5 yrs and I trained carers in understanding the particular needs of those living with this condition . I have supported people with dementia, anxiety and mental health issues, strokes, learning and physical disabilities, end of life and much more. For the past 7yrs I have been a self-employed carer working in the community. All my work has arrived through personal recommendations. Recently a client said of me " you are irreplaceable, there is only one Helen!" My care is of the highest standard and tailored to your needs. I am happy to arrange a meeting with you to discuss this in person before agreeing any shifts should that be of help? Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Any questions you have please feel free to contact me and we can explore options together.

EX13 5QW 97918 Having worked for the NHS Rapid Response team, and Seaton auxillery Bank nurse. Moving up and down the country working at various nursing and residential care homes. ( as a forces wife) in auxiliary supporting roles and and working for Seaton enablement enabling patients to stay within there own homes teaching life and living skills. i have been a level 3 HCA support worker within the NHS. I have been in care for 38 years. I enjoy working independently and taking responsibility, and am very confident. I look forward to overnight stays with continuity for both the client and I. Clients like continuity and feel confident with the same carer visiting. This is particularly important for dementia clients, building confidence and trust is important to me for patients. Covid vaccines are up to date, to put your mind at rest. jobs within the home I enjoy are as follows: cleaning, ironing, and washing if that is required through the night, Reading to the patient, and looking at and discussing photographs of vintage memories. I have hands-on experience with Stoma Care, Hoisting both with ceiling track and manual. Glide sheets, manual handling, repositioning, peg feeding, and pressure care experiences. Weekend work is no problem as I prefer weekends, am able to carry out overnight live in for Saturdays til Monday morning if needed,I have live in availability throughout the week and weekend at times. XMAS LIVE IN AVAILABLE. At 60 I finished a degree in Animal Sciences, and Animal Welfare and Management. I enjoy the company, caring and helping rescue, fundraising for good welfare of companion animals abroad. I have worked for Cats Protection with rehoming and home checks, along with animal welfare checking. I have a happy disposition, work out at the gym as a hobby, enjoy long walks with my own foreign rescue dogs. Have visited numerous foreign destinations. Have a positive outlook. Nothing really phases me with nursing and care and keep up with modern technology and medications. I give 100% to my patients and can bring new ideas to family with nursing technics, only if asked for. Over the years I have worked with Dementia although this is demanding keeping calm, defusing situations Is usually the best way, every situation is different, every person individual. There are some very unfair diseases out there, and each one of us is left to cope with what we are given. Anyway, if I can help just for a chat, no pressure just a chat we can face time...... well, have just finished after 24 months of looking after a Dementia pt one can't believe just how much a part of your life they have become, you do miss your patients dearly you can enliken it to losing a part of you. This is just a glimps of how much your job means to you and stays in your hart.....

EX13 5GW 297434 Hello, I'm Emma, I know how difficult it can be to find a reliable, sensible carer. I'm an old fashioned carer who will always try to help if I possibly can. I pride myself on great communication, being grounded and punctual. I aim to make everyone's life just that little bit easier and happier; if I can do it, I will. I have a medical and teaching background and now work for myself whilst completing another Open University degree. I enjoy Nordic walking in our beautiful countryside and swimming (not sea swimming I hasten to add, I don't like the cold). I love all the arts and architecture and have oriental cats. I'm a little obsessed with Audio Books.
