HD4 6JS 152545 My role as a care/support worker, communication is the base of my work to get to the bottom of my client’s needs. I use effective communication oral and written, monitoring, and administering medication, understanding clients, and devising care plans to meet their needs. If there is a care plan in place, I follow the individual care plan, if not then I have to sit with the family the client and make a care plan that suits the client depending on their needs. I also reflect on my day today's work to improve work practices, liaising with family, nurses and doctors to fulfill the clients’ needs. I report to the family and other people involved all changes and wellbeing of the clients. Also, work as a team with other professionals who come in to support the clients in a centered way and ensure all personal hygiene aspects of the clients are met. This may include hoisted if needed, washing, cooking, and feeding, changing pads depending on each individual needs. I also have a duty of empowering service users and treating each person as an Individual. Having worked in health and social care for more than a decade, I have been pursuing not only to be a caregiver but to assess and provide a client centered assessment and intervention strategies and deliver unique support options for them and be able to determine the needs and goals of the clients. I am applying for the above post as a Live in Carer because I have worked as a Live in Carer for quite a while and I have acquired substantial experience in working with people with learning difficulties and mental health needs and other illnesses such as cancer, strokes, etc. Also, I can do hoisting but I prefer doing it when we’re 2 people doing it. However, this experience has made me develop an interest which forms the basis of my career ambitions in social care, confirming my commitment and desire to improve people’s lives. Encouraging service users to take an active role in all aspects of daily living and helping them to access the local and wider community as often as possible. Working directly with service users and to encourage their psychological, social, physical, intellectual, cultural and emotional development. Being fully involved in the key worker system and the development and maintenance/update of service user plans, I feel I can make a positive contribution to the service user with the skills I have acquired from my previous jobs. My role and responsibilities involved the following: Providing opportunities for individuals to develop skills in a way that respects the person involved. Promoting choice and independence to allow individuals concerned to realize their own potential. NB: I do not drive at the moment, but I don’t mind travelling far away from my place. I can go up to 160 miles away from home. I am flexible as I can work up to six weeks where applicable. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"1","field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"1","field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"1","field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"1","field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"1","field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"1","field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"1","field_care_type_seven":"3"}

HD4 5TA 174887 I am in my seventh year of working as a Personal Assistant/Carer and I've had the privilege to get to know some lovely families through my work. You may need help in just a few small ways or in many ways. I am able to assist with dressing/undressing, personal care, medication, cooking/preparing meals, housework, light garden work, shopping and paying bills. I can help to arrange and accompany/transport to appointments and assist with phone calls. I have experience in helping clients run their household in conjunction with their family and also with ones who have no available family. It is important to me that my work is meaningful, not just to myself but to the clients I care for. Helping others to live their lives the way they want to gives me great satisfaction. Everyone's needs fluctuate with time and circumstances and I pride myself in being flexible and adaptable to accommodate wherever I am able to. My strengths are in organising, problem solving and paying attention to detail. I have great empathy and love to get to know new clients and their families. If you think I may be a good fit for your family, I would love to hear from you. Training that I have done but isn't showing on my profile are the following: Administration of Medication for Carers and Support Staff, Palliative Care, Epilepsy Awareness, Autism Awareness and Diabetes Management. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1, 4","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1, 4","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}

HD7 6HG 280925 I’m Nancy, an experienced P/A currently living in West Yorkshire. I do specialise as a Palliative and End of Life Personal Assistant/Carer and as a community End of Life Doula but if you’re not palliative or end of life don’t let that put you off exploring if I might be the right person to meet your needs as I have a wealth of transferable skills and always open to learning new ones! I’ll also add to that to not look at my age and think “nah, she’ll be too old”. I’m healthy, enjoy running, walking, wild swimming and camping and am always up for making the most of life. Working in the end of life field is not all doom and gloom you know. Most people want to live fully right up until the last breath and that includes getting in as much laughter as possible so you could say I’m well versed in engaging with life even in the quiet moments which I love too. So, as well as supporting people in having their wish to die at home fulfilled as practicably as possible I also support people in living at home in a variety of ways. I'm here to alleviate some of the stresses of living independently and as fully as you can and make the time more about quality and less overwhelming. Now on to my End of Life Doula explanation. As an End of life Doula I serve as a non-medical practitioner, supporting you and your loved ones as you navigate your end of life experience. I make myself available to assist a dying individual and, typically, the family before, during, and after a death occurs in order to provide physical, emotional, psychological, and even spiritual support. I complement systems already in place, allowing caregivers to feel well supported and those living remotely the assurance that their loved-one is well supported. You can bring an End of Life Doula on board whether you are being cared for at home, care home, hospice or hospital. First and foremost an End of Life Doula is a grounding, reliable, knowledgeable, comforting and reassuring presence during an emotional time. I provide knowledge of the death process and a compassionate resource for families who may be overwhelmed and grieving. I advocate for you. I will meet you where you are and assist with developing a cohesive plan which honours all who are involved. But my service as a doula goes beyond that. I’m fully insured both as a doula and PA and have an Enhanced DBS on the update service. I'm a country girl at heart and would prefer a position located out of city or town. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":null,"field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"0","field_care_type_second":null,"field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"0","field_care_type_third":null,"field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fourth":null,"field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":null,"field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":null,"field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":null}
