I cared for a lovely ladies with different ailments like copd, stroke, heart disease and early stage of dementia. I am passionate about what I do and will always strive to ensure care is delivered to a client regardless of age and identity with utmost respect and dignity. The vast experience of working as a Nurse/carer for 39yrs has made me great at my job and has given me greater understanding of how important and valued person-centred care is providing compassionate and informed care ultimately enhances the quality of being. I am always wanted back by previous placements/clients wherever I have worked. I am available and happy to work any time I would like to work within radius of 50 miles from HD1 but flexible to work anywhere else as long as travel expenses are covered to and from work. If there is a care plan in place, I follow the individual care plan, if not then I have to sit with the family the client and make a care plan that suits the client depending on their needs. I also reflect on my day today's work to improve work practices, liaising with family, nurses and doctors to fulfill the clients’ needs. I report to the family and other people involved all changes and wellbeing of the clients. Also, work as a team with other professionals who come in to support the clients in a centered way and ensure all personal hygiene aspects of the clients are met. This may include hoisted if needed, washing, cooking, and feeding, changing pads depending on each individual needs. I also have a duty of empowering service users and treating each person as an Individual. Having worked in health and social care for more than a decade, I have been pursuing not only to be a caregiver but to assess and provide a client centered assessment and intervention strategies and deliver unique support options for them and be able to determine the needs and goals of the clients. I feel happy when seeing my clients appreciate and happy with my service. I have been a live-in carer for more than 14 years, working in different settings, with elderly people with physical and mental health, disabilities, dementia, and just companionship. I can carry out different duties, including personal care, moving and handling, administering medication, accurate record keeping, food preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, and shopping. I am a flexible person and willing to learn and adapt. My qualifications: Moving and handling, Food safety and hygiene, updated online training. I love listening to country music, watching movies, art, and walking. I do enjoy fresh cooking meals. I am a non-smoker, updated with all covid-19 vaccinations, and l do drive, and own my vehicle.
