 EX14 1XG 15907 I have been a caregiver for a total eight years, six and half years working in community care helping people with early and intermediate stage dementia, 2 years in a residential care home which has given me experience in more advanced dementia. I work only with the elderly and love giving them companionship, taking them out and making their lonely days more enjoyable. I help with all the basic light household duties and personal care where necessary, I have a carer certificate and L2 & L3 equivalent to NVQ’s in Dementia care. Dementia is a devastating diagnosis for any family to receive and I specialise in this area. I am happy to do respite for a few hours in a day if family carer needs a respite so they can have that much needed break to relax or go shopping. I am happy to work with pets in the household and travel within a radius of about 10 miles. I am also fully computer literate if needed. Non smoker to work in smoke free homes only and no evenings or nights. I have hands-on experience with Stoma Care, Hoisting both with ceiling track and manual. Glide sheets, manual handling, repositioning, peg feeding, and pressure care experiences. Weekend work is no problem as I prefer weekends, am able to carry out overnight live in for Saturdays til Monday morning if needed,I have live in availability throughout the week and weekend at times. XMAS LIVE IN AVAILABLE. At 60 I finished a degree in Animal Sciences, and Animal Welfare and Management. I enjoy the company, caring and helping rescue, fundraising for good welfare of companion animals abroad. I have worked for Cats Protection with rehoming and home checks, along with animal welfare checking. I have a happy disposition, work out at the gym as a hobby, enjoy long walks with my own foreign rescue dogs. Have visited numerous foreign destinations. Have a positive outlook. Nothing really phases me with nursing and care and keep up with modern technology and medications. I give 100% to my patients and can bring new ideas to family with nursing technics, only if asked for. Over the years I have worked with Dementia although this is demanding keeping calm, defusing situations Is usually the best way, every situation is different, every person individual. There are some very unfair diseases out there, and each one of us is left to cope with what we are given. Anyway, if I can help just for a chat, no pressure just a chat we can face time...... well, have just finished after 24 months of looking after a Dementia pt one can't believe just how much a part of your life they have become, you do miss your patients dearly you can enliken it to losing a part of you.
