TS17 5GJ 210124 I am an adaptable carer, who has a person centred approach to clients, conscientious, kind, caring and compassionate and enthusiastic care assistant with experience in providing a professional care service to the elderly with dementia-early, mid or late stages. Also experienced working with adults suffering from complex needs, mental health issues, and learning disabilities especially autism spectrum. Having an excellent understanding of promoting privacy and dignity whilst enhancing independence and rehabilitation. A proven ability to deal with physically and emotionally demanding care patients and to successfully help them to retain, regain, and develop skills needed for independent living. Below are some of the duties that I have gained in my previous employment as a care assistant. Helping clients with transportation, house cleaning, personal care/support, and maintaining hygiene. Providing care to clients in their own homes and in the community. Liaising with other healthcare professionals such as district nurses and GPs (multi-disciplinary team). Besides working, I enjoy spending time with my family (wife and children), ensuring as a family we engage in activities that helps us grow together and it is very important having that balance between home and work. I like to socialise, meet new people, travelling, going for sports events, especially football and cricket, watching movies and trying something new. I knew that taking that first step, captivating knowledge and skills in the healthcare sector, was very beneficial in transforming the lives of those who work and those who receive support. In 2010, I graduated, obtaining an MSc of Science in Public Health at Anglia Ruskin University. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1, 4, 5, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1, 4, 5, 3"}

NE47QS 136117 I have always wanted to support and care for people. Having had to care for a family member made me aware of how vulnerable people can be without adequate care. I have been trained and worked for care. My experience involved supporting people with disabilities, providing palliative care and services to diabetic clients. Since last year I have worked in the laboratory within the NHS helping with the massive covid-19 tests. I am easy going and naturally get along with people. When not working you will find me relaxing before a TV, taking a walk or just reading stuff. I'll work with you to provide the best care you deserve to live that good life suited to you. I took voluntary redundancy after 20 years and started running my own business, as well as volunteering as an art therapist at Teesside Hospice. I then went to Australia for 5 years, where I helped a friend with Quadriplegia achieve his objectives and travel around Europe. I came back to the UK in April 2021 and took up a position as a live-in carer in Wiltshire for 18months. After this I became a Personal Assistant and carer paraplegic gentleman in Northampton. I'm trained in manual evacuation, sterile changing of dressings, care of suprapubic and lifting and handling. I would now prefer to work within a couple of hours' drive from home in Durham or York. Any client will find me friendly, reliable, honest, and caring. My aim is to care for a person in the same way I would like to be cared for when it's my turn. I have a holistic approach to my work. I can cook meals from around the world but also very happy and able to turn out simple tasty British cuisine. I have my own car and a clean driving licence. My enhanced DBS is up to date, too. My previous clients and their families would be happy to provide references, as would my previous employers. I have had the opportunity to work with clients with celebral palsy, dementia and learning disabilities. My passion for care started in 2004- 2008, when I had to take care of my mum who was diagnosed of diabetes. This to an extent made me realise how passionate, caring, understanding and patient I could be with people. I’m Joe. I have several years experience as a professional carer and additionally, I looked after both my parents for many years. I specialise in helping those with Dementia. I am based between London and the Nortb East of England, so am able to work throughout the UK. I usually work on a Live in basis, either full time on my own or job sharing, several weeks on/several off, alongside another carer. I can also work waking or sleeping nights. I am in the process of renewing my driving licence and have my own car. If you would like to discuss your needs, please message me. There is no commitment on your part. About me : I am well liked and caring person, working at a pace you are comfortable with. I’ll always be sensitive to your needs, appreciating that there will be times when you need hands on support and others where your privacy needs to be respected, my being in the background in case I am needed. In terms of duties, I am adept at the full range and carer performs : admin, washing/dressing, medications, cooking and cleaning, companionship and shopping. I enjoy tv, music, art, conversation and love gardening, so if that is important to you, you can be sure that, together, we will have your garden looking perfect I try to make each day interesting for my client. For example, looking at the news/current affairs/favourite tv programmes and talking about what is happening in the world and locality. Using board games, puzzles and pictures, reading, music and photo albums to stimulate laughter and happy memories. Clients often like to reminisce about the places they have lived and there are lots of clips on you tube, showing towns as they were and are now, which can be of interest. And for those able to get out and about, I enjoy accompanying clients on journeys, be this shopping, cafes, community or gardening centres, or arts and craft events, etc. Additionally, I’m aware of the importance of light exercise, to retain flexibility and muscular strength in old age, be this short supported walks. a tour of the garden, or even chair based movements. I am also very much aware of the need to keep loved ones informed at all times, of any development that may require their attention. And I take the responsibility very seriously of liaising with health professionals and documenting advice/decisions taken, particularly in regard to medications.. To this end, I usually keep a record sheet for each client, recording any important information/developments on a daily basis. Additionally, if a client were to experience a change in their condition (as often occurred with my own father), I am competent at reporting those to district nurses, gp and other health professionals, and in the necessary follow up. I am not trained in physiotherapy but have used chair and bed based stretching exercises to aid client wellbeing/recovery. Overall, I am a calm head on old shoulders and am used to responsibility and decision making, having held senior management positions in my professional working life. But it is in retirement that I have found my true vocation, caring for others and I really enjoy being able to help people in their elder years.
