I am patient and kind, compassionate and am able to work with people from all different departments in the total care of my client including their families. I am happy to work in a home with animal, cats or dogs as I have always had animals, although I am a cat lover, as I wanted my kids to grow up with them and when coming to UK, I flew my daughters cat over to the UK to be with us. I like cooking easy and nutritional foods for my clients, I would sit down with them and discuss what they would like to eat and do my best to make it. Another thing of importance is being able to take my clients out into the community to mix socially or to visit friend or attend church. On waking my client in the morning with a smile and a cheerful demeanor, is very important, making sure they are ready to proceed with the daily tasks and personal care, having meals and spending time doing what they like, crosswords or puzzles, or just chatting. I would naturally do what is required of me according to the clients care plan, making sure they are taking their medication as indicated. Mostly it will be following my clients lead and always getting their consent and the right to choose if they are mentally capable, but at the same time making sure that I have some down time to rest and do what makes me happy, such as a hobby, reading, a walk. Its necessary for me to have a 2 hour break each day. I have always been involved with caring for people who are vulnerable from my first years of working with both adults and children who had special needs, physical and mental disabilities to changing my path to care and support elderly clients or those recovering from operations and illnesses to end of life to help people to remain in their own home. I have experience from companionship to caring for people with dementia and the challenges that that may bring. I enjoy working with multi disciplinary teams to deliver care and I have also been responsible for managing teams of carers in a placement if needed such as in 24 hour care. I'm very happy to accompany clients on outings, appointments etc if public transport or other means is available and appropriate. I have my UK drivers licence for an automactic. I'm looking for daily/nightly care but will consider a week or two for respite live in. I'm happy to travel for example to London from Kent if the hours are for longer periods i.e a day and/or sleeper duty/nights or respite live-in. Happy to accompany you should you want to go on holiday and need a companion or need someone to accompany you to your destination to join others. The rates displayed are a guide line and the basis for Monday to Friday day rates. Weekends are usually a little more per hour and also bank holidays will be charged at a double rate. Rates open for discussion ie if 24 hour live out cover is required then the rate could be lower. I love to travel and are very interested in other cultures, the arts, sport......love watching sport. Love the outdoors especially being by the coast. I enjoy cooking and food so are capable of producing nutritious meals. Shopping running errands. Happy to do light housework and even mow the lawn if needed. I've been described as laid back but able to step up when needed. Firm but fair. Fun with humour and more than capable. Supportive and caring with empathy. I'll be there to encourage you to do as much as you can and are capable of doing.
